Inhalo Bio-Based Air Filter
Genetically enhanced moss-based air purification unit
This compact filter system used genetically optimized moss to remove airborne contaminants through continuous biofiltration. Enhanced via CRISPR-Cas9, the moss demonstrated increased surface activity, protein expression, and pollutant absorption—enabling it to reduce pathogens, allergens, and VOCs without mechanical replacement or synthetic inputs.
Marketed as “powered by nature, enhanced by science,” the InHalo required only ambient airflow and moderate indirect light to sustain its function. It was one of the first consumer-grade living technologies to integrate seamlessly into healthcare spaces and home environments alike.
It marked a transitional moment in post-industrial ecology, when purification was no longer outsourced to machinery, but re-integrated with biology—quiet, green, and alive.

Curator's Note
This was not a filter you changed. It was one you lived with. In an era obsessed with sterilization, InHalo reminded the public that healing could also come from coexistence.
